Hood County, on Lake Granbury and US 377

Granbury is the county seat of Hood County, southwest of Fort Worth on US 377, where the Brazos River widens into Lake Granbury. Growth from the Metroplex and new lakefront and subdivision development around Granbury, Acton, and Pecan Plantation mean steady distribution work: line extensions, transformer installs, pole replacements, and underground services.

NTX Powerline Services provides crew capacity for that work. We support the utilities, electric cooperatives, and prime contractors who own the system, with crews that show up ready, follow the owner's standards, and communicate without being chased.

A city electric system and two cooperatives

Granbury runs its own electric distribution system. The City of Granbury's Electric Distribution division, part of Public Works, is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of the city's primary and secondary lines, transformers, and related equipment. The city buys its power and has not opted in to electric deregulation.

Outside the city's service area, Hood County is served by electric cooperatives. Tri-County Electric Cooperative counts Granbury among the communities where its members live, and United Cooperative Services has a Granbury office and serves Hood County as well. Because ownership can change from one road to the next, we confirm the system owner, its construction standards, and its switching procedures before every job.

Overhead, underground, and maintenance scopes

On the overhead side we handle new construction and line extensions, pole framing, setting, and replacement, conductor stringing, sagging and dead-ending, transformer installs and changeouts, and cutout, arrester, and hardware installs, built to the customer's construction standards.

Around the lake, coves, and creeks, underground work is often the cleaner option. Our crews run horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and auger bores for road, driveway, and creek crossings, plus conduit, duct bank, and underground primary and secondary runs, with bore plans, locates, and traffic control coordinated up front. For reliability work we offer pole inspections and replacements, hardware and insulator changeouts, right-of-way clearing support, and equipment changeouts for transformers, reclosers, and regulators.

Storm restoration in Hood County

Hood County gets the same spring hail and wind and the occasional winter ice event as the rest of North Texas. When it does, we provide emergency restoration support, damage assessment and patrol, broken pole and crossarm replacement, and wire-down and re-energization support, with after-hours and 24/7 mobilization coordinated with utility command.

For city utilities and co-ops working through a backlog or a capital project, contract crew support adds capacity without adding permanent headcount. We offer short-term and long-term crew agreements.
